Tasmania Tour Day 4 (01/05/2011)

Early in the morning I left the Montgomery hostel and found the meeting place for the Bruney Island Tour to be just 5 minute walk away. I quickly got myself a coffee at Mures (mei was that a hot one) and got on the bus. Funnily two girls from the last three days were there as well. They had decided on short notice that they would like to do it as well.  So all three of us got together and chatted away while we were driving to the Kettering Port. We caught the Ferry to the Bruney Island and 20 minutes later we arrived.

We started to head to the place where the boats were waiting for us. They explained what we would see during the three hour ride and the safety rules. As soon as we got on the boat we were given a nice long red jacket to keep us warm and dry. And yes they were needed.

They offered Ginger Tablets for seasickness, but since I haven’t been seasick since I was very young I declined hoping for the best. And there you have it, everything was fine after the tour and the ride wasn’t that wild and the see not that rough.

The ride around the cliffs and caves was one of the most amazing things I have done so far on the Tasmania tour and not just because of all the animals I was able to see in the natural habitat:

Sea eagle

Seals

Dolphins

I know that I have not very great pictures of all of them, but it is not very easy to take pictures while holding onto the reeling and bumping up and down. But the memory is what counts ;)

And again my battery died….. From now on I really have to put it back into the charger every night. It really makes me angry every time I miss a great photo opportunity because I was too lazy to get up and put it there hoping the two of three bars would hold long enough for the next day.

So after now 4 full days of hiking, walking, bussing and boating I am pretty exhausted. I have my day off tomorrow and just do things as I go along. I have a few attractions on my mind, but not sure yet when I will get up. Unfortunately the Cadbury Chocolate Factory doesn’t offer any tours anymore, otherwise I would have done that for sure :)
