Tasmania Tour Day 9 (06/05/2011)

After a really good night sleep we started again very early and our first stop was St. Helen, one of the main fishing towns in Tasmania.

From there we drove to the Bay of Fire, a very beautiful beach (with free camping for 4 weeks) and took a stroll through the white sand. At the end hot tea and coffee were awaiting us.

Next we stopped at the St Columba Waterfalls, a massive 90 meter high fall! Very beautiful. We were lucky with the weather today and had loads of sunshine; it even got warm at a few points.

In between we stopped at the Paddock Pub to see some pigs (YES pigs). The fat lady apparently likes to drink from beer bottles, of course filled with water.

Next we had some great cheese tasting at the HOLY COW CafĂ©. So delicious that we decided to buy a pack and share it later with some crackers. Yum….

We made a quick stop at Weidborough Pass, a rainforest walk in Tasmania and took a 5 minute stroll before heading towards Launceston, my final stop.
Later in the evening we got together for a night out with the group, as some of them are departing, some will continue. We went to the recommended Irish Murphy pub in the city for some food. A little bit later a band started playing live music. Some of the girls were chatted up by some local students who were mostly 20 year old boys…of course we all left together the pub and headed back to the hostel.

Tomorrow I will fly off to Sydney and enjoy another free week of touring before going on a job hunt again. I haven’t decided yet what I am going to look for and when I will start, but I will keep you posted.

I really enjoyed the tour and I am happy that I had the opportunity to see a lot from Tasmania. I met really lovely people and hope to stay in contact with them. I hope my journey will continue to be so great, I am really happy and can’t wait to see more from the world and put ideas to reality.
My final words to Tasmania: AWESOME

My first words to Sydney: HELLO SYDNEYSIDERS :D
